  • FDA cancels advisory panel meeting on flu vaccine

  • NIH cancels the Summer internship program

  • University of Pittsburgh will not admit any PhD students in 2025; several other universities announced the same or big cutbacks in PhD admissions

Yep! We are going to be great again.

Called my senator (Blumenthal)‘s office to let him know about my displeasure with him voting for Driscoll as the secretary of the army. I thought it would go to voicemail but I actually talked with a person. Also asked the senator to vote no on all trump’s nominees. That was very satisfying!

I was itching to go riding outside for the whole month. Finally a sunny morning with temps above freezing and I was out on a slower ride keeping an eye on icy patches on the road.

Going out on a hike on a winter day is somehow invigorating and relaxing at the same time.

Damn it!!!

🏏 In current Cricket, my most favorite player is Rashid Khan from Afghanistan. He may not be technically the best but he embodies the spirit of the sport.

I don’t follow ice hockey but for some reason I’ll be rooting for Canada tonight.

I was at Costco last night and there were no eggs! It is great that eggs have gotten so cheap that people are buying out all the stock.

It was a snowy night making the roads slippery. Someone driving down the hill skidded and knocked out our mailbox. Same thing happened exactly one year ago. Now the same process again. Stop the mail; get an estimate for replacing the mailbox; get it through insurance company; get it installed.

Merritt Parkway in Connecticut is the prettiest highway on the East coast in all seasons.

These new tall and thin buildings in New York are just an eyesore. I think they have destroyed the beautiful skyline of New York.

Our LG upright washing machine is acting up. It doesn’t want to start. To make it work, I have to disconnect it from the wall, hold down the power button for 10 sec. I suppose some problem with the circuit board inside. Maybe a big purchase coming up in the near future.

I feel really bad for the Federal employees. As an outsider, I want to encourage them to stay and fight. But, if I was in their place, I’d quit this toxic workplace in a heartbeat.
