Elton John announced his retirement from touring after 4000+ concerts over 50 years. That is just an amazing career! I had the opportunity to see him in concert only once, late in his career and it was a great experience. Unbelievable to see how energetic he was.
Trying something new. Posting my outdoor bike rides 🚴🏽 here for the month of July.
This ride is my usual loop on Boston post road and Rt 156.

Hilly #bikeride on a warm and still morning. Had to ride my heavier bike to pick up our CSA share on the way.

We have made this house our home for the last 16 years. Moved here over the 4th of July weekend in 2007 and have really enjoyed living here. Our kids grew up here and this is the only home they know and will fondly remember as they move on with their lives.

I started working out on the rowing machine again after a long time. Finally, I have figured out how to pace myself properly and not just get carried away with rowing faster and harder. I really love these workouts but, as I get busy with cycling I forget how good it feels to row. Hope this time I’ll keep it in my regular workout routine.
If Francis Scott Key wrote something else instead of
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air
would Americans still celebrate the Independence Day with fireworks?
Booked a flight for my son to travel to attend college orientation. This sh!t is getting real. Also, had to jump a couple of extra hoops so he can travel by himself as a 17 year old.
Rt 1 - Rt 156 #bikeride on July 3rd. It was steamy and cloudy.

Got back home from Bar Harbor. Another nice week at Acadia NP - 11th or 12th visit over the last 16 years; have lost count. This time it was foggy, cloudy and rainy a lot. Couldn’t do as much biking as I’d have liked. But, did a lot more walking and hiking. Went to some previously unexplored areas of the park and trails.
Some of the hikes and bike rides were on the same trails as before. While there, we had a great time reminiscing about how much the kids had struggled in some of these areas and now as teenagers it was just a walk in the park.
We have gone on these trips with different groups of friends and relatives over the years. I am so glad that we have created these great memories that all of us will remember and talk about for the rest of our lives. This reminds me of my visits to my grandparents during Summer vacations and having a fun time with all the cousins. I still talk about those trips whenever I get together with my cousins and uncles and aunts.
Morning ride on foggy and misty Park Loop Rd. There were very few people out there only around Sand beach and Thunder Hole. Rest of the loop was empty. It was good to enjoy it by myself.
This is just perfect, @wrenman

After many many visits to Acadia National park over many years, I found one of those iconic granite bridges that I had not seen and photographed before. This is where Paradise Hill rd goes over Duck Brook rd.

One of our favorite places to walk on - Jordan pond trail. It was great to be there in foggy and rainy weather.
Had a little kerfuffle in the parking lot over a spot to park. Put my foot down and stayed my ground as I was right. In my younger years, I’d have backed down and moved my car.
Last night we ate lobster poutine. I was a bit skeptical ordering it as I find regular poutine with gravy to be quite gross. This version of poutine was fries with lobster bisque and chunks of lobster meat. It still looked gross (hence no photo) but tasted delicious.
