2022 activities in numbers

Strava does this year end summary of all the activities posted through the year. I like that I can get this summary without any effort to generate it by myself. Here are my numbers for 2022.

Jupiter and Moon over the Empire State Building in NYC.

In downtown Manhattan waiting on some random street while our guests visit 9/11 memorial.

Went to 3 stores in search of Green Chartreuse and it is sold out. Don’t know what the popular cocktail of this season is but looks like it is one that requires Green Chartreuse.

It is balmy 55F here this morning but as the storm moves through with high winds and cold rain, the temps are supposed to drop by 40 degrees by this evening.

Great Conjunction of 2020. Jupiter and Saturn close together in the sky on December 21, 2020.

Came across this huge oak on today’s hike. It must be at least 200 years old - probably even more. Have to visit it again in Summer when it is green.

Leaves under a sheet of ice in a frozen stream - spotted on today’s forest bathing session in Old Lyme, CT.

Tree decoration was finally completed last night.

Happy Winter solstice everyone! As of just about an hour ago, we are officially in Winter now. Hoping for a lot of snow to play in over then next 3 months or so. The storm over next couple of days is bringing only rain before it gets really cold on Saturday.

Day 2 of 2 week long break during which I am planning to stay away from any news. On a 2 hour walk in forest this morning, listened to a podcast called “Cocktail college”. Learned a lot about origin and best practices for making a Martini, Boulevardier and Lemon drop. Have a lot of things to try out next time I mix cocktails.

Saw this interesting ice formation during my forest bathing outing this morning. Water in sandy soil making these long crystals. Initially, I thought it was quartz or some kind of mineral but it was ice.
