Bubble nebula - Nov2022

The Bubble nebula (NGC 7635) and an open cluster M52 in the constellation Cassiopeia. They appear next to each other but the nebula is ~11000 LY away while M52 is closer at a distance of only ~5000 LY. The bubble is about 10 LY across and is formed because of the intense radiation from the star inside it pushing the interstellar gas and dust.

This image consists of almost 3 hours of total exposure (35x5m). Optolong LeXtreme narrowband filter with ZWO ASI533MC-pro on WO ZS61. Processed with SIRIL and PS.

November 15th!! It is going to be a busy day as some deadlines for my son’s college applications are today:
- Early decision for his 1st choice
- Merit scholarships at some colleges
- No application fee day at UConn

We have reached the “8 billion humans on Earth” milestone today. Interestingly, 200 years ago, there were only 1 billion of us. This growth - thanks to the enormous advances in medicine, healthcare and food production around the world.

Done with voting in the US midterm elections. In the past, I used to vote for people I knew in the community - local business owners or parents of kids' friends. I also voted for women candidates over men. But, this time I voted straight along the party line. As long as the republicans continue to coddle trump, I’ll not vote for them for any post starting from dogcatcher to governor.
