Took these photos around sunset a couple of days ago but got busy and forgot to post them. Seeing a post from @miraz reminded me of them.
Darn it! My MacBook Pro is from 2016 and Ventura is only available for MBPs that are 2017 or newer. Don’t tell me that this is a good enough reason to replace my perfectly working laptop.
Just found out that my aunt passed away from brain hemmorhage after a fall. During last 2 years, two of my aunts and one uncle passed away. It is hard that these relatives that I was so fond of while growing up and who were always helpful and supportive are no longer with us.
Had a perfect brunch complete with mimosa and Bloody Mary at “Artisan” in West Hartford. The bread basket was warm and tasty. My eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked and were delicious and so was wife’s quiche.
Taking senior photos of my son on this cloudy Fall day. I like days like this to take pictures compared to bright sunny days.
This is parents weekend at my daughter‘s college. We spent the whole day on campus & are awed once again at the wide spectrum of facilities & opportunities that are available to the students. Every time I spend any time on a college campus I want to go back & get another degree.
Elephant trunk nebula - Oct 2022
Another attempt at capturing Elephant trunk nebula (IC1396) in Cepheus. This large cloud of gas and dust is a star forming region with many 'young' (~100,000 years old) stars. Use of Nikon Z6 camera with the full frame sensor instead of the cropped sensor ASI533MC-pro astro camera, makes it a wider angle image. For comparison, here is a photo of the same object taken with the ASI camera two months ago.

Trifid nebula (M20) in Sagittarius shows a nice combination of a star cluster and emission, reflection and dark nebulae. This dense cloud of dust and gas is a stellar nursery with many newborn stars at ~4100 light years away.

Finished reading: Happy-Go-Lucky by David Sedaris 📚
In this collection, Sedaris is funny and compeling as always but, there is a darker edge to the humor. Stories about his family are more grim than before and almost made me uncomfortable reading them. Still, highly recommended!
