After several cloudy and rainy days with high temperatures in 50s, it has dropped to 60F inside the house and will get colder tonight. Finally throwing the towel and turning on the house heat. My son will be happy when he returns from swim practice.
My son is applying for a job at our town swimming pool. As the aquatic center is part of the school complex, it is a job with the school district. This 16 year old has to undergo a full background check. He had to provide his previous address from MI when he was 1 year old. 😯🙄

NGC 869, NGC 884 - Double Cluster in Perseus. These clusters consists of very young (3-5 million years old) blue-white stars with only a few older yellow stars.

As we approach end of September, we are only about a month away from some of the college application deadlines for my son. He is working on the application and a million supplementary essays. It is going to be anxious time till mid-December to make sure this all gets done.

My best Andromeda galaxy image so far. It is only 30 minutes of total exposure but autoguiding makes a huge difference by making all the details clear and sharp. Have to collect more data on the next clear night.
The Andromeda Galaxy, also known as Messier 31 (M31) is a barred spiral galaxy approximately 2.5 million light-years from Earth and the nearest major galaxy to the Milky Way. It is larger than Milky Way galaxy by about 25-50%. Two other galaxies are in this view - M32 (above M31) which is a satellite galaxy of M31 and M110 (bottom of frame) which is also part of the Andromeda group of galaxies.

We received many little saplings over the years from Arbor Day foundation (@arborday) but, this Crepe Myrtle is the only one that survived and thrived to become a nicely grown plant. I like this one as it blooms in late Summer/Fall unlike other Spring blooming plants.
Went for a 17.7 mile Ride this morning. The shifter cable on rear derailleur snapped and was stuck in high gear. Had to walk the last 0.2 miles home. Made it back just in time before thunder and rain started.
I’ll never buy any book written by news reporters with material that they should have reported as news when it was fresh and not rehashed into a book 2+ years later. I already pay newspaper subscription to read the news.
